Kiki Bush—who has also worked professionally under the name Kristen Bush—is a Kansas-born stage and screen actor, writer, and director whose career has taken her from Sterling to New York, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, and back home to Kansas. Raised in Sterling, she fell in love with performance through community theater at Sterling College, then studied at the University of Kansas before training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Over the course of her career, she has built credits in film, television, and theater, including work on Paterno, Liberal Arts, Law & Order: SVU, and Suits, along with major stage work at institutions such as Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theater, and Lincoln Center.
After roughly two decades of professional work in major creative hubs, Kiki returned to rural Kansas during the pandemic, where she has continued acting while also expanding into writing, directing, and film advocacy. Her recent work includes co-writing and producing the short film The Game Camera, and she has become an outspoken voice for growing Kansas’s film industry and supporting better opportunities for artists working in the state. Her career reflects both a global creative journey and a deep commitment to telling stories rooted in Kansas, especially stories that make more room for women, aging, and regional voices on screen.
