Banking on Kansas- Jeremy Hill

Jeremy Hill has spent his career helping people make sense of one of the most complex subjects in everyday life—the economy. As Assistant Vice President and Regional Executive for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Jeremy serves as the bridge between businesses across Kansas and western Missouri and the policymakers responsible for shaping the nation's monetary policy. By meeting directly with business owners, manufacturers, community leaders, and employers, he gathers the real-world stories behind the economic data, providing valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing communities throughout the Tenth Federal Reserve District.

Although Jeremy jokes that he once swore he'd never become an economist or return to Kansas, life had other plans. Raised in Topeka with family roots stretching back to Kansas homesteaders in Plains and Hill City, he eventually returned to the state after graduate school to join Wichita State University's Center for Economic Development and Business Research. There, he became one of Kansas' leading economic voices, helping communities, businesses, and policymakers understand how economic trends affect local growth before transitioning to the Federal Reserve.

Jeremy is passionate about translating complicated economic concepts into stories people can understand. Whether explaining inflation, interest rates, manufacturing growth, or household finances, he believes economics is as much an art as it is a science. His work focuses on helping Kansans understand not just what is happening in the economy, but why it matters to their families, businesses, and communities. Through his storytelling approach, Jeremy continues to make one of the nation's most important institutions more accessible to the people it serves. Click to expand images.
