Born on Long Island and now deeply rooted in Wichita, Kansas, DJ Carbon has spent decades creating soundtracks for people’s favorite memories. A full-time DJ for the past seven years, Carbon has built a reputation far beyond the turntables — blending music, event hosting, cultural advocacy, and community connection into a career centered on bringing people together. Whether performing at weddings, corporate events, festivals, or nonprofit fundraisers, he’s known for reading the room, introducing audiences to new sounds, and creating experiences that feel personal and unforgettable.
Raised on vinyl records, hip-hop, funk, punk, and soul, Carbon’s love of music started early and evolved into a lifelong passion for discovering and sharing music that moves people. After moving to Kansas at 16, he embraced Wichita’s growing creative scene and became one of its biggest champions, helping spotlight local artists, nonprofits, musicians, and community events across the state. His work with organizations like the American Cancer Society, Tallgrass Film Festival, and Wichita Festivals reflects his belief that music and culture can strengthen communities.
After overcoming a life-changing cancer diagnosis in 2018, Carbon made the leap from corporate executive to full-time creative entrepreneur at age 40 — a decision that transformed both his career and perspective on life. Today, he continues to mentor young creatives, support local causes, and serve as one of Wichita’s most recognizable cultural ambassadors, all while staying true to the philosophy that great DJing isn’t just playing music — it’s understanding people.
