From February to Fame: Creed the Rhino’s First Months

Spring has sprung across Kansas, bringing with it a season of new growth. At one Kansas zoo, that growth has been especially exciting. Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, Kansas recently welcomed a new member to its family—Creed the rhino.

Creed was born on February 8 to mother Evey and father Kengele. While zoo guests currently have limited access to see him, Ask a Kansan had the opportunity to visit and capture photos and video of the rapidly growing youngster.

Though only a few months old, Creed is already making a name for himself, gaining national attention after the zoo announced who he was named after. Creed Humphrey of the Kansas City Chiefs visited the zoo on Monday, March 23, to meet his namesake and present Creed the rhino with a #52 jersey.

The zoo says Creed and Evey are expected to make their full public debut in the near future. The best way to stay updated on when you can visit and see the “little” guy is by following Rolling Hills Zoo on social media. Photos and article by Tanner Colvin
